Our client is a leading provider of technical services to the UAE Armed Forces.

Description

As the Supply and Materials Director, you will be responsible for strategizing and overseeing the entire Supply and Materials Department in alignment with the company’s business plan. Your duties encompass planning, directing, and reviewing supply functions while ensuring compliance with contract requirements and company standards, including Quality Management, Occupational Health, and Safety Management, and Environmental Management Systems.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and revise strategic processes based on company business plans.
  • Direct and guide the preparation of short-term and long-range plans aligned with program goals.
  • Oversee and review all supply functions to ensure alignment with department objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Manage the Authorised Stock Levels (ASL) review process, inventory levels, and demand analysis.
  • Prepare routine reports for senior management and the GMC Program Management Office.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, hazardous material storage, and property accountability.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and practices for inventory, catalogue, receipt, storage, and issue functions.
  • Prepare the department for audits and implement required actions.
  • Support continuous improvement, LEAN techniques, and performance measurements.
  • Monitor and manage the annual department budget.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of company documents.

Minimum Qualifications:

Please note this role is reserved for UAE Nationals who hold a Family Book.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Economics; Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience in the same field.
  • 10-12 years of experience in logistics, supply, warehousing, and material management.
  • 10 years of experience in commercial distribution, warehousing, and supply chain management.
  • Experience in managing a large international workforce is advantageous.
  • Analytical skills and experience in strategic planning are a plus.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems like MAXIMO, SAP, etc., is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and ISO methodologies in a Supply and Materials setting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Valid UAE driver’s license or the ability to obtain one.
