Our client is a dynamic global media brand with well-known English and Arabic language broadcast, print, and digital titles in their extensive portfolio.

Description

You’ll be adept at providing legal advice and expertise across all areas of broadcasting, digital media business, and across various locations and Bureaus. The ideal candidate should possess intensive knowledge of media laws across all publication platforms together with having strong IP and commercial drafting experience. You’ll be confident in offering expert legal counsel on matters related to media and broadcasting operations, including but not limited to content creation, licensing, distribution, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will also advise on the implementation of key legal processes such as legal drafting, negotiations, and contracts.

Provide strategic legal advice and support to the business on all legal matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements in relation to the business (including services, licensing, distribution, and partnerships).
Manage data privacy compliance, protect and manage IP assets, including copyrights and trademarks.
Monitor legal risks and ensure compliance with the terms of the contracts, relevant laws, and regulations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
Work closely with external legal counsel and advise management on legal issues related to transactions, disputes, and litigation

Successful Applicant

Ms./BSc in Law. Bar certification will be a plus.
7+ years post-qualification experience, preferably in the Media/Intellectual Property sector.
Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Knowledgeable of the regulatory framework in the UAE and wider region.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Experience of commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
Proven track record in managing intellectual property portfolios and handling IP matters.
Fluency in Arabic and English is essential
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
